 1. Being a distance learner takes some time to get used to. A few things that changed include increased distractions like a television or using the internet in the middle of class. Participation also feels a little awkward during a class because you are essentially talking to a screen hoping the people on the other side can hear and understand you. Few problems like bad wifi connection can be a headache, but if all goes well during class students have the ability to learn through a new medium. There are very few things, if at all, that I like about distance learning, because I would rather physically be in class. If I were a teacher doing distance learning I would assure my students that the learning will be the same and continue to use my knowledge of learning through a digital medium. 2.  1. I did not necessarily learn new skills while building the website for our assignment. I have always enjoyed working on websites so this assignment was especially fun for me by editing and creating text boxes and adding photos that are relevant. This assignment can bring out the creativity in students by adding colors, photos, information, and strategically put it all together to look organized.  1. I viewed the website of Deerlake Middle School and came across the profile of Joseph Miller. Publicly he has information like his job title and location, his work email, and photos of himself.  1. I haven’t begun to use Diigo to be honest. I’m just getting up to speed with certain assignments while also trying to balance other classes. I intend on using Diigo in whatever way it is being asked to for class. I’m sure it’s helpful for storing important information and for study reasons, but i don't know much past that. I have trouble understanding what the website is and what it does.  2.  I’ve been blogging since I was a child during the 6th grade with AIM messaging. Blogger and Twitter comes easy for me considering how much i have indulged in blogging.  1. Ive thoroughly enjoyed using twitter so far this semester. i am an avid Twitter user outside of this class so using it for educational purposes is a lot of fun. i havent been interacting with too many people outside of some the tech talks, but i am always open to expanding my digital profile in terms of my educative twitter profile. twitter can be very useful in my career field. i can have classes follow a main twitter account (mine) and i will have updates on education talks and maybe reminders for certain students that assignment due dates are upcoming. twitter may be a distraction considering it is a popular social media site, but if used properly it can be a major help for students and teachers. 2.  1. 6th Grade: Using certain words that have multiple meanings and explaining how they can be referenced to other on websites such as Wordsmythe and Thesaurus.com. Using printed texts and websites is essential to helping kids use several mediums so they can understand how to use words in a texts. The inclusion of technology is quite important because education is rapidly including itself the digital age.
